We need to get out of the mindset that change is hard. Often that’s a mental block that keeps people from being successful. In Switch, there are so many examples of situations where people made change happen under unbelievable odds. It truly resets how you approach challenges. Even if you think change is impossible, take a moment to look around and seek out anyone that has achieved success in your organization. They accomplished that with the same challenges you’re facing. The first book in our series is Our Iceberg is Melting by John Kotter. Why did we choose this book? Aside from it being a very quick and digestible read, it gives a great overview for leading change in an organization. To touch briefly on the plot of the story, Kotter uses a classic business fable about a colony of penguins that live on a melting iceberg.

Join us for a three-part book series focused on leadership. The same issues have plagued our industry for over 30 years and only leadership can help us move past where we are today.
